Dad’s Birthday Card

While I have been off work it was my Father’s Birthday and this year it was a big one the big 60! So I decided that this year I would make his own card.

I used a nice thin card and covered the whole card in Distress Embossing Powder in Old Paper to give it that old age look. I then used some meshing wire that I had and cut out a piece that was a little smaller than the card, sticking this as the background onto the card.

I found the letters to make the word DAD from the Scenic Route Paper Co Chipboard Alphabet, these I inked black and then embossed them with a Kaleidoscope powder to give them the sparkly look. I then used black Thickers to write IS and cut out a little sticker strip saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

I wanted to highlight the 60 that was also written in the Thickers so used a Making Memories Tag to give the 60 stickers a border and make them stand out on the card.

This was a really quick and easy yet elegant card to make for a 60-year-old man. And Dad loved it!
