This is the third Challenge for Crafty Boots and the exciting thing is that this challenge is happening right now, so after you have a read of this you can actually pop on over and participate in the challenge yourself.
The theme this time was Zoo or Animals, I decided to do a Scrapbook Page of a recent trip to the Zoo that we did as a family.
This page was made with a very dark 12 x 12 page and a couple of premade embellishments, the grass and the sign where embellishments that I was sent as a gift from another blogger last year. I haven’t had a reason to use them yet, but felt that this page was the perfect page to put them on. The branch on the page is a chipboard embellishment from DoCrafts that has been cut in half to fit in the space at the top of the page.
However all of the other embellishments have been all handmade using circle and heart punches.
This rabbit was made with three circles and two hearts. The hearts were both cut in half and used for the ears and the arms, one circle was cut in half for the feet and then I drew on the face and drew dotted lines around each piece when they were all stuck together.
This bug was made with two hearts, all cut in half and only three pieces used, they were then stuck together. The antennas, and legs were drawn on the 12 x 12 page with a black pen.
This rabbit was made with three circles and one heart, the heart was cut in half for the ears and one circle was cut in half for the feet. Then the same process of drawing dotted lines around the edges of shapes was done on this rabbit as well, and a tail was added to the bottom circle.
This was the most complicated embellishment, the owl used two different colours, and was made with four circles two from each colour. The circle cutter is then used to take the top of the head of the owl off, and is used to cut out some small wings from the original circles that have been punched out. The feet are made from cutting a circle in half, and then I have again drawn dotted lines around the edges. I cut out a small triangle and drew on the eyes.
All of these embellishments are stuck on the page with foam pads, to create a 3D effect. The pictures are then stuck onto the page and the page is completed.
Please don’t forget to join in with the challenge if you are inspired, and you can see all of the other design teams takes on the theme as well.
